The Energy System is expected to face a rapid transformation within the next 10 years to enable new net zero carbon ambitions now adopted by continents such as Europe. This indirectly means an acceleration of gridedge electrification with an exponential growth of IoT technologies to control and manage Heat Pump, Photovoltaics and Smart Charging particularly. This acceleration represents in the same time a risk to Grid operators in view of potential congestion constaints to the electrical system as well as a significant opportunity to foster prosumer flexibility into real-time markets for intraday energy exchanges, balancing as well as coordinated TSO-DSO congestion management. This requires to rethink Grid Control architectures to enable new BYODER approaches through the real-time orchestration of Distributed Energy Ressources through layers of IoT Platforms.
